Universal workstation

Designing flexibility into a universal workstation for a Storage Solutions Manufacturer

Universal workstation

A manufacturer of storage solutions required a universal workstation to integrate into a large, mainly automated picking system for a major online retailer with installations across Europe. The workstation needed to be flexible to accommodate different volumes and types of work.

Following close consultation with the customer to understand the requirements and limitations, Unifabs’ industrial design team produced several concepts in collaboration with the client. A refined working prototype was then produced and tested for approval.

2000 units were manufactured and delivered across Europe, fulfilling the clients demand, with further rollouts possible as online retailer expands throughout Europe.

Flexibility was a core design requirement for this project. Using our manufacturing expertise and working in close consultation with the client we produced a fully refined product which fulfilled the clients demands.
