January 2026 marked two years of Unifabs’ CSR partnership with Action Change. And what a journey it has been! Since our collaboration began in January 2024, we have been proud to support their life-changing work in South Africa. From helping vulnerable children access education and nutritious meals, to safe spaces to grow.

Expanding Opportunities at Siyakhula Preschool

2025 was a landmark year for Siyakhula Preschool, where Unifabs’ CSR partnership has focused much of its efforts. A few highlights from the past 12 months include:

  • Expanding access to education: Siyakhula grew from 18 to 42 children, giving more young learners the early educational foundation they deserve.
  • New classroom and programmes: A badly damaged room at the preschool received much-needed renovations and was reopened thanks to the additional support of The Murph Foundation. The addition of a second classroom allowed preschoolers (ages 2–4) to be separated from the Pre-Grade R and R Class (ages 5–7). With a qualified Grade R teacher, Trina, Grade R placements were also opened to support families who cannot afford local options.
  • Meals: Action Change provided over 22,500 nutritious meals (breakfast and lunch) to children at Siyakhula Preschool in 2025.

Supporting Local Schools and Communities

Beyond supporting Siyakhula:

  • Bhongolethu Primary School: Action Change celebrated the first graduating class from Bhongolethu, all set to continue their education in secondary school in 2026.
  • Sports and physical education: With support from Action Change, Unifabs, JAG Foundation and Horn & Phillips, Bhongolethu hosted its first Rugby Day and introduced PE programmes. This will help children to develop healthy habits and teamwork skills.

Creating Special Memories Through CSR Initiatives

With our support, Action Change was able to spread a little joy over the festive season by hosting a special Christmas party for the children. A local catering company provided Christmas lunch, and Santa came to hand out presents, creating lasting memories for all.

Seeing the Impact First-Hand: Unifabs CSR partnership in Action

Over the past two years, our team has been fortunate to witness the difference Unifabs’ CSR partnership makes. In 2024, Jason Austin and two other directors visited South Africa to see Siyakhula and Bhongolethu’s projects first-hand. They were accompanied by Action Change CEO Tyrone Bennett and trustee Phil Day. The team returned inspired by the communities’ resilience and progress.

Last year, Jason also participated in a CSR webinar, highlighting the partnership’s real-world impact and sharing advice for businesses considering corporate–charity collaborations. The session demonstrated that meaningful CSR goes beyond financial support; it is about building relationships and creating lasting change. You can watch the CSR webinar interview with Jason here.

Looking Ahead: Continuing Our Corporate Social Responsibility Partnership

We are already planning our next visit in November 2026, and inviting others interested in supporting Action Change to witness the impact for themselves. This provides opportunities to deepen understanding. Experiencing projects first-hand helps us see how corporate partnerships can transform communities.

Our partnership has shown what is possible when businesses, charities, and communities work together. From expanding educational opportunities to providing meals, sanitation, and sports programmes. The difference is tangible, and it is only just the beginning.

We look forward to continuing this journey with Action Change, helping more children thrive, communities grow and brighten futures.
