We’re proud to be celebrating a major milestone for Chris Lawrence, who is marking 10 years with Unifabs! His journey from welder-fabricator to production manager highlights the opportunities available in welding, sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing careers in the UK.
From Sheet Metal Fabricator to Supervisor
Chris joined Unifabs in 2015 as a welder-fabricator, quickly showing the skill, precision and dedication essential in sheet metal fabrication. Over his first three years, he became known for his reliability and attention to detail, helping deliver high-quality fabrications and welded components.
In 2018, Chris was promoted to welding supervisor. Leading the welding team for over four years, he maintained a safe and efficient working environment while ensuring consistent quality across welded projects, proving himself to be a dependable and capable supervisor.
Following this, Chris took on the role of assembly supervisor, managing the teams responsible for turning our fabricated components into partially and fully assembled products. After almost a year, he was promoted once again into his current role as production manager. Overseeing manufacturing operations on the day shift and coordinating closely with the night shift production manager, he helps ensure operations run smoothly across both shifts.
“Chris has always been one of our most reliable and hardworking team members,” says Jarek Gasiorek, Production Director. “His commitment, strong work ethic and leadership skills have been key to his growth and success at Unifabs.”
Leading Manufacturing Excellence
As production manager, Chris works with the day shift teams to coordinate workflow, ensuring production schedules are met and teams perform to deliver high-quality sheet metal parts and fabricated products. His leadership ensures that projects meet the high standards expected and demonstrates how hands-on experience in welding and fabrication can lead to long-term career growth.
Jarek added, “Chris is a pleasure to work with, and we are proud to have him at Unifabs. His work ethic, leadership and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable part of the team, and we wish him many more years of success.”
Over the past decade, Chris has seen Unifabs grow and evolve, and his own career has developed alongside that progress. Dedicated and dependable team members like Chris have played a vital role in helping the business expand its capabilities and maintain the high standards our customers expect. His journey reflects the spirit of growth, teamwork and innovation that continues to drive Unifabs forward.
