At Unifabs, we are always looking ahead, investing in cutting-edge technology and expanding our capabilities to deliver the highest-quality sheet metal fabrication solutions. Our latest investment in the Amada EML2515 AJP 3kW Combination Punch Laser Machine marks another significant step forward in efficiency, precision, and automation.

This machine isn’t just an upgrade to our production—it also represents an exciting milestone in our company’s growth. To accommodate the new equipment, we have expanded our manufacturing footprint, reclaiming a neighbouring unit that we had let out for many years. This space has now come home to Unifabs, providing us with even more room to grow, innovate, and invest in the future of sheet metal fabrication—starting with the EML.

What is the Amada EML2515 AJP?

The Amada EML2515 AJP is an advanced punch laser combination machine, designed to optimise sheet metal fabrication by combining high-speed punching with Amada’s fibre laser cutting technology. With its automated tool and material handling capabilities, this machine increases efficiency while maintaining exceptional accuracy and flexibility.

Key features and benefits

Our new investment brings significant advantages to our sheet metal fabrication processes and our customers:

Precision Punching and Tapping – The 44-station turret, including 4 tapping stations, enables tapping to be seamlessly incorporated into the punching process, significantly reducing programming and processing times.

Punching and Forming – The Punch & Form (P&F) system, integrated as standard, allows for the processing of forms up to 22mm high using a 16-tonne forming system.

Automated Punch Die Changer for integration with the Amada EML 2515AJ punch laser combination machine delivers efficiency in sheet metal fabrication

Advanced Automation – The PDC (Punch Die Changer) can store up to 220 punches and 440 dies, allowing for automatic tool changes during both the punch and laser phases, reducing manual intervention and boosting productivity.

Energy-Efficient Production – The servo-electric punching system and Amada’s in-house 3kW fibre laser oscillator provide low running costs and energy savings of up to 70% compared to hydraulic systems, making production more cost-effective and sustainable.

Integrated Material Handling – The Amada RMP3015NTK 3-tonne load/unload system ensures seamless automated processing, minimising handling time and enhancing workflow efficiency.

What this means for our customers

This investment, alongside our expanded facility, which now stands at over 60,800 sq ft of manufacturing space, strengthens our ability to provide high-quality sheet metal fabrication services. The increased capacity and automation mean:

  • Greater design flexibility, with integrated punching, forming, and laser cutting on one machine.
  • Enhanced production efficiency, helping us to meet growing demand
  • Scalability for future growth, ensuring we continue to invest in the latest technology

At Unifabs, we remain committed to staying at the forefront of the sheet metal fabrication industry, continuously investing in new technologies and expanding our capabilities to offer the best possible solutions.
